Lipitor is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and is the most common selling prescription drug ever. It is marketed to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of a heart attack and stroke.
According to a study by the Food and Drug Administration in 2012, the unfortunate side effect is that taking Lipitor and other cholesterol-reducing statins may increase the risk of elevated blood sugar and lead to the development of type-2 diabetes.
Pfizer was required by the FDA to place warning labels on the product about the risks. Unfortunately this warning occurred too late and many people suffered a serious side effect of Lipitor known as Atorvastatin Calcium.
Many have files lawsuits against the drug company Pfizer due to their injuries and more expected to come.
