Talcum’s (or Talc) ability to efficiently absorb moisture and reduce rashes has made it one of the most common hygiene products on the market. However, there has been decades-long speculation that the product may cause or be linked to ovarian cancer. Research found that Talc was discovered in an overwhelming number of ovarian tumors, but that Talcum powder’s manufacturer – Johnson & Johnson – failed to warn consumers of the association.
Because of insufficient warning of the potential risks involved with the use of Talc powder, there have been several lawsuits filed against Johnson & Johnson. Due to the product’s popularity, there are thousands of potential claims that could be filed against the manufacturers.
